Location
Moreton Institute of TAFE has two main campuses, these are situated at Mt Gravatt (10-15 minutes by bus from the city centre) and Alexandra Hills (25-30 minutes from the city centre). Campuses are closely located to major shopping centres and public transport.

• Mt Gravatt Campus: The Mt Gravatt campus is less than 15 minutes from the heart of Brisbane. The campus specialises in fashion, engineering, transport, hospitality and business programs in addition to offering building, mechanics, and manufacturing, and providing a wide range of pre-employment, adult education, access and literacy programs. With easy access by public transports, plenty of parking for students and a wide range of local accommodation nearby, Mt Gravatt offers all the benefits of a city centre but in a safe and pleasant suburb. • Alexandra Hills Campus: Just minutes from the beautiful Moreton Bay, the Alexandra Hills campus is set in unique parklands, which provide students with a positive friendly learning atmosphere. Students can frequently observe koalas in the trees of the campus. The Campus has well established local community links and pursues the goal of life-long learning and the provision of quality customer service. Senior Studies is a specialty area at Alexandra Hills. This campus is the only TAFE campus in metropolitan Brisbane that offers Senior Studies in addition to the full range of TAFE courses. This unique feature allows students to combine their Senior Studies with vocational training towards a TAFE qualification. Other course offerings include animation, automotive, beauty therapy, construction, digital art, engineering, film & TV, hairdressing and community services (welfare, child care and nursing), hospitality, multimedia, business, horticulture, and the arts. Students at the campus can also take advantage of independant on-site child care and the gym facilities. The culinary arts of students are available to the public at Connections Training Restaurant, and hair and beauty therapy services are also available through the Campus Training Salon.

Study Options / Courses

• English Language Courses (ELICOS)
  English language courses are offered at TAFE in the City - Moreton TAFE's city campus shared with Brisbane North Institute of TAFE. Programs include general English, English for Academic Purposes, Business English and TESOL. These programs provide opportunities for interaction with Australian students, excellent learning facilities and a supportive learning environment.
• Senior Certificate Studies (Year 11 & 12)
  Study Year 11 and 12 courses on an adult campus. Undertake purely academic subjects or combine academic subjects with vocational studies, and gain vocational certificates during your Senior Studies. Integrate your Senior Studies program with Arts, Business, Computing, Child Care, Environmental Studies, Fashion, Horticulture, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Hospitality, Retail, Engineering or Construction. Moreton is the only TAFE Institute in Brisbane offering Senior Certificate Studies.
• Environmental Science
  Moreton offers programs from Certificate to Diploma level, providing skills and technical knowledge in land management. Graduates may obtain leadership positions in community based natural resource programs, or become park rangers or nature and reserve worker .
• Arts, Media, Performance and Multimedia
  Study within Moreton's state-of-the-art multimedia and digital art laboratories with programs such as Film & Video Production, Digital Art, Animation, Photography, Performance, Music, and Visual Arts. Students can also gain skills to develop multimedia production while working on real multimedia projects. This program provides hands-on multimedia training.
• Business
  We offer one of the widest ranges of Business subjects available at any TAFE Queensland Institute. Programs include, Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Retail Operations and Justice. • Community Services and Nursing
  Choose from a large selection of programs in this multidisciplinary area: Aged Care, Child Care, Community Services (Welfare), Nursing (pre-enrolment), and Disability Services.
• Engineering
  A wide range of programs is offered in engineering, from pre-employment to Advanced Diploma. Pre-Employment programs are offered in Motor Mechanics, Auto Electrical, Fitter Diesel, Fitting & Machining, Metal Fabrication, and Tool Making. The Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) prepare you for a career in the areas of Mechanical Design, CAD, Manufacturing CNC & CAM and Industrial Fluid Power.
• Fashion
  Moreton's Fashion School has an excellent reputation, which is demonstrated by the number of fashion competitions our students enter and win. Moreton TAFE graduates regularly win the RAQ (Retailers Association of Queensland) awards, the most important fashion event of the year in Queensland. Some well-known fashion designers from Moreton's fashion school are Daniel Lightfoot, and Lorna Jane, Julie Tengdahl, Kym Scott Couture and Bora. Our fashion programs provide students with a range of skills and expertise required by a rapidly changing industry. Programs range from Certificates in Clothing Production to Advanced Diploma of Textiles, Clothing and Footwear. Our students learn not only to maximise their personal design flair but also how to manage and supervise factory production in the fashion industry. Moreton is the only TAFE in Brisbane offering Advanced/Diploma programs and is the Queensland TAFE's lead centre in fashion training.
• Hairdressing and Beauty
  You can develop skills and knowledge to work in the beauty industry as a beauty therapist, cosmetologist, makeup studio assistant, beauty salon assistant, beauty consultant and nail technician. The Diploma program provides managerial skills as well as a skill in electrolysis. Moreton TAFE also offers an alternative to standard hairdressing apprenticeships by completing the college training component of an apprenticeship. Students complete the on-the-job component after gaining employment in their home country and return to Moreton for final assessment.
• Horticulture
  Do you have a green thumb or an interest in plants and landscaping? Horticulture offers a broad range of career opportunities, whether you want to be a gardener for a large resort, a commercial landscaper or nursery owner/operator.
• Hospitality and Tourism
  Study programs that integrate theory with practical experience. Under the guidance of highly qualified staff, our students achieve excellent employment outcomes. Programs include Tour Guiding, Hospitality Management, Catering Operations, Food and Beverage, and Front Office Accommodation.
• Information Technology
  IT Programs include Certificates in Network Management, Software Applications, Network Management, Programming, a Diploma in Software Development and the new Diploma of Web Development. Moreton's programs are developed in conjunction with the IT industry to ensure graduates keep pace with technological advances. You can be trained in vital programming languages such Visual Basic .NET and C# in programs.
